Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer
It’s a super low-budget indie that got acquired by Anchor Bay after playing at Slamdance. It looks really great. Like a fun classic 80’s Evil Dead style monster flick. I’ll try to catch it the one weekend it plays in LA.
Everyone’s eagerly awaiting this Friday for The Dark Knight. But I’m eagerly awaiting NEXT Friday night for Baghead.
Cobrahs!
This was our more “legit” entry to last night’s Movie Night. Spencer and I thought it up and Ryan helped us shoot it. We lit a greenscreen in our garage. It was actually my first time really doing chroma key’ing in FCP, and I think I did an OK job.
The Shitty Goonies
This was one of our 2 entries to this week’s Movie Night. On Saturday night Spencer, Ryan and I decided to try to shoot as many scenes from Goonies as we could think of off the top of our heads without any real planning or production value, playing all the characters. We forgot some major scenes, but it turned out kind of funny. We joked about in the future trying to shoot the rest of the movie in this style and eventually releasing a feature length version of The Shitty Goonies.
Drunk History Volume Three! Yes!
Drunk History should be a real show on the History Channel. This one features Danny McBride as George Washington. It’s great.
I know everyone is creaming their jeans over The Dark Knight hitting theaters this Friday, and I’m looking forward to seeing it, but I’d actually rather someone come with me to see Brad Anderson’s new thriller Transsiberian. Unlike The Dark Knight, this thing won’t make any money and won’t be in theaters long, but Brad Anderson is one of my favorite filmmakers and I think this movie looks interesting. Any takers?
Random FCP Frame: 3:30 AM on Monday 7/14
Finally going to bed after a fairly big weekend of productivity. Here’s a frame from Spencer and I’s Movie Night entry (our “real” one). I’d never really tackled my own chroma key’ing in FCP until tonight. I think I’m doing a decent job with it. We’ll find out what Ken thinks tonight. OK, bed time.
Bud Bought Out By the Belgians
Miller’s owned by South Africans. I gotta support my old man, but I also gotta say, if you’re gonna be bought out by a foreign beer conglomerate, Belgian is a good way to go. At least the dudes can make a solid brew.
